Ashcroft Public School Halloween

12 November 2024

This Halloween, Ashcroft Public School was transformed into a scary and mystical place for a successful fundraiser organised by students. At a recent meeting of the student representative council, the students of Ashcroft decided they wanted to raise money for more sporting equipment to use at lunch and recess. To achieve their goal, the SRC organised a Halloween dress-up and disco event. Students at Ashcroft put on their best costumes for an event that was, by all accounts, a spooky success. Among the attendees were vampires, black cats, clowns, pirates, witches and multiple Wednesday Addams. Charging a $3 entry fee and $2 for ice cream spiders—a worthwhile expense, if you ask me—the SRC raised enough money to have a shopping spree to purchase supplies at Westfield Liverpool last week. Thanks to their efforts, the students now have brand new basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, handballs, frisbees and hula hoops. I congratulate Ashcroft Public School SRC for its community spirit.
